The holidays are finally here, and they will be gone before we know it! What is it about the holidays that makes time disappear? Let's try to savor this holiday season and make the most out of the time we have! Here are my favorite holiday events in San Diego!

Dec 1-2, Balboa Park December Nights

Friends, families, and the community are incited to come together for festive fun, food, and attractions throughout the park including complimentary admission to Balboa Park museums from 5-9 pm. Enjoy international cuisine, unique gift shopping, music and dance performances, and a wide variety of museum exhibits. This is a free event with food and drink available for purchase.
Time: 3-11pm Friday, Noon-11pm Saturday

December 2-17, Old Town Holiday in the Park

Let Old Town San Diego make your holiday season merry and bright! Halls will be decked, fires built and song sung during Old Town Holiday in the Park & Las Posadas. The stores, restaurants, and museums in the park will be decorated to evoke the spirit of the season during the 1800s.

December 2-23 & 26-30, Garden of Lights

Experience a dazzling winter wonderland with more than 120,000 sparkling lights illuminating the flora of this fantastic 37-acre urban oasis. The Garden has something for the whole family including local food, treats, and warm beverages, live jazz and blues bands, marshmallow toasting, visits with Santa, horse-drawn wagon rides and much more!

December 3, Santa by the Sea

Holiday cheer at the beach in Del Mar! Join the residents of Del Mar for their annual tree lighting with endless activities including free photos with Santa, gift drive to benefit North County Health Services, holiday treats and refreshments, make your own holiday hats, letters to Santa, and more!
Time: 3-5 pm (Tree lighting at 5pm)
Location: NW Corner of Camino Del Mar & 15th Street

December 15-16, Queen Bee Market Holiday Show

Looking for that perfect holiday gift? With over 100 vendors selling home d├ęcor, handcrafted art, clothing, accessories, furniture and so much more, you are certain to find something unique at this original, urban-style, artisan market.
Time: 4-9 pm Friday, 9 am-4 pm Sunday
Location: Del Mar Fairgrounds

December 28, Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade

Watch as the scenic bayside streets of downtown San Diego come alive with the Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade! As always, this exciting family event brings together world-class marching bands, magnificent floats, entertaining drill teams, and a procession of enormous balloons-more than any other parade!
Time: 10 am
Location: Downtown, San Diego, following N. Harbor Drive
